Water Filtration Systems

Haiti Share has found a source in Haiti where lifetime water filtration systems can be purchased. The system consists of a filter, a bucket with a hole drilled in it and a hose. The gravity from the water in the bucket forces the water through the 0.1 micron filter, removing all bacteria, including bacteria which cause cholera, botulism and typhoid. The filter never needs replacement; it simply needs to be periodically backflushed from time to time to maintain its effectiveness. For $60 you can purchase a filter for a family at risk.

Members of the Haiti Share team delivered 24 water filtration systems to families Petite Reviere in the Artibonite Department. Our Director of Operations, whose mother recently recovered from a bout with cholera, had this to say:

Thanks for supporting the trip to l'Artibonite.  God was also with us in this trip.  It was just one day, but I think it meant a lot for our team and for the people in L'Artibonite, cause they are very concerned about the cholera.  They all send their greetings and appreciate what we do for them.

Haiti Share provided 30 water filtration systems to families in Gonaives, which is also in the Artibonite Department.

The Artibonite Department is the department of Haiti where the cholera first broke out.
